Dear Roundhay Park Community,

As our journey to Roundhay Festival comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to send a massive, heartfelt thank you to every single one of you. Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful park, and thank you for being such an instrumental part of making this year’s event a success.

From the very beginning, our ambition was to build a genuine partnership with the community that calls Roundhay Park home. Thank you for your support, feedback, and engagement, we achieved some truly amazing things together.

  • Our planning began back in July 2025, with detailed planning in partnership with Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Police, the Friends of Roundhay Park, local Ward Councillors and many more. We hosted six dedicated community meetings that saw reviews and discussion around our plans.
  • Investing in the community: We are proud that 78% of our event workforce was recruited locally, and 30% of our budget was spent within the Leeds area.
  • Empowering the Next Generation: Partnering with Leeds Beckett University, the University of Leeds, and Roundhay School, we welcomed local students into our team, and gave them exclusive backstage experiences.
  • Welcoming the community in: We distributed complimentary tickets to more than 30 community groups, local care homes, and creative institutions like the Northern School of Contemporary Dance to ensure our neighbors could share in the magic.

We are proud of the incredible feedback we've received from our partners on this collaborative journey:

"We're thrilled and proud of the success of this year's Roundhay Festival, delivered through a strong partnership with AEG, partner agencies, suppliers and a community that has enthusiastically embraced the event. We've all worked hard to create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable experience that has brought residents and visitors together to celebrate everything that makes Roundhay and Leeds such vibrant places.” Leeds City Council Spokesperson

"The collaborative approach has helped create an event that celebrates the park while respecting the needs of residents and park users." Sara Dawson, Vice Chair of Friends of Roundhay Park

"This partnership is exactly the kind of industry collaboration that enriches learning, develops future talent, and creates meaningful pathways into careers." Dr. Michelle Lanham, Senior Lecturer, Leeds Beckett University

"The journey to launching this brand new festival has always been about collaboration. Every piece of feedback helped us create an event that respected the local neighborhood and made Leeds proud. AEG brings the biggest artists and partners to our events, and we’re proud of what we have achieved in year one of Roundhay Festival. Thank you for welcoming us into your park." Peter Allott-Fletcher, AEG Presents' Festival division

Thank you Roundhay, and here’s to 2027!
