Your essential event info for American Express presents Roundhay Festival.

Main Points

  • There is no re-admission to Roundhay Festival after entry. Please plan ahead because once you’re in, you’re in!

  • With the exception of dedicated seating tickets, this is a fully standing event. Seats and chairs of any kind are not permitted into the event. This includes seat sticks and inflatable seats. Please remember this is an outside Festival show.

  • No food or drink is permitted to be brought into Roundhay Festival (with the exception of baby food when not in glass containers). We allow patrons to bring in empty water bottles to refill at one of our free refill points across the festival arena.

  • Bags larger than A4 (297mm x 210mm x 210mm) will not be permitted.

Event Facilities & Services

All bars, food traders and concessions accept Chip & PIN payment as well as contactless payment (up to £100) and this is the quickest and most efficient way of paying. There will not be cash points available onsite.

If you are collecting your tickets at the event, please go to the main Box Office. You will need to present the credit or debit card you purchased your tickets with, photo ID and a copy of your email confirmation.

  • There is free water available throughout the event. Locations are signposted and are also shown on the event maps. Please bring a refillable water bottle with you so you can stay hydrated.

  • Free drinking water is available at all bars as well as First Aid / Welfare points.

Customer Service Information Hubs are located throughout the site and run by uniformed members of the Roundhay Festival team. The hubs will post up details of current stage times and are the places to ask questions and leave feedback – positive and negative!

Welfare and First Aid provision is at both the West and East entrances of the event and operated by our trained and experienced staff. Both services are open during event hours and all visits are logged and recorded. The Welfare Area acts as an internal meeting point and is also the location of Lost Property, on-site baby changing facilities and a quiet space for those who may need it.

Phone charging vending machines are located at the welfare tent, where you can rent a power bank.

We have a wide range of themed bars selling great refreshments from real ales to cocktails, as well as an extensive offer of taste-bud teasing artisan traders, producers and restaurateurs. If you have a certain dietary requirement, several of our food vendors will offer suitable meals, but these may not be suitable for visitors with allergies.

Toilets with handwashing facilities are available throughout the site

Baby changing facilities and a quiet space for baby feeding can be found at the Welfare Areas.

There are no luggage storage facilities at the event. You can leave your bags at one of Stasher’s luggage storage locations for £6 for up to 24 hours (insured by £750). The closest location is: 135 Easterly Rd, Roundhay, Leeds LS8 2TP.

Roundhay Festival offers funfair rides, attractions and games, which operate on a pay-as-you-go basis and must be used in accordance with the operator’s instructions including in respect of health and safety. Use of any such funfair rides, attractions and games is entirely at your own risk.

There will be official merchandise vendors throughout the event site selling a range of event and artist merchandise. All official merchandise is certified ethically sourced. Please do not buy from illegal street traders selling counterfeit goods outside of the event.

  • Please remember this is an outside Festival show. Please note the Seat Unique VIP Grandstand and VIP Pavilion are both uncovered.

  • Seats and chairs of any kind not permitted into the event. This includes seat sticks and inflatable seats.

  • There will be a restricted and enforced “no picnic blanket zone” within the site to assist with crowd flow. This will be enforced with staff on the ground so please be aware of this as if you are situated within this zone you will be asked to move further back.

  • There are some places to sit down and relax including pub-style garden tables and benches. We can rely on the British weather to be unpredictable so please come prepared with suncream and hats if the weather is good and waterproof coats and shoes if the weather is bad! Check the Leeds weather forecast in advance on the BBC’s weather pages.

Please bring any medication that you would normally take, but no more than you would personally expect to take over the duration of the event. Tell your friends about any allergies you have. All medication must be clearly labelled as prescribed and the name on the prescription label must match that of the ticket holder. Medication can be safely stored and refrigerated at the Welfare Area on site if required. Please remember that all medication must be self-administered.

  • Roundhay Festival welcomes Deaf and Hard of Hearing customers and is proud to offer British Sign Language interpretation for all acts on the Main Stage across all shows. BSL Interpreters for these performances will be based to the side of the Main Stage.
  • To get to the area where the interpreter is located please visit the Accessible Customer Service Hub on arrival at the event.
  • From here, a member of our Access team will ensure that you and a friend are able to get as close to the interpreters as possible. This hub can be found on the customer map which will be made available closer to the event date.

Banners

  • Banners are permitted up to A1 in size

  • Banners that have battery-powered fairy lights on them will be permitted

  • Banners should only be constructed of bendable materials – i.e cardboard/paper is fine.

  • Wood/MDF etc are not acceptable

  • Banners cannot have flag poles on them

  • Customers should please respect other fans and not compromise their enjoyment of the show with their signs or banners. Final decision on the suitability of signs and banners rests with the stewards team at the event entrances.

Event Restrictions & Prohibited Items

  • There is no re-admission to ticketed events after entry. Please plan ahead, once you’re in, you’re in!

  • Golf umbrellas, parasols and the like are not permitted at the shows for safety reasons.

  • Chairs, seats, shooting sticks and tables, are not permitted at events for safety reasons. All General Admission tickets are sold as standing tickets.

  • No food or drink is permitted to be brought into Roundhay Festival (with the exception of water in unopened plastic containers of up to 500ml, and baby food when not in glass containers). We allow patrons to bring in empty water bottles to refill at one of our free refill points across the festival arena.

  • Buggies & pushchairs are only permitted for dates where children have access to the event. We strongly advise that customers consider that areas nearer to the Main Stage will be very busy and densely populated which will make it extremely challenging to move a buggy. We therefore respectfully advise that buggies may be requested to be relocated from those areas to less densely populated spaces on safety grounds.


  • Use of picnic blankets

    All General Admission tickets are sold as standing tickets. Please be aware that due to the busy nature of the shows you may be asked at any time by a steward or member of security to pack blankets away. There will be a restricted and enforced “no picnic blanket zone” within the site to assist with crowd flow. This will be enforced with staff on the ground so please be aware of this as if you are situated within this zone you will be asked to move further back. Please also note that you cannot claim a spot with a picnic blanket (or similar) and leave it unattended. Please be sure to take your picnic blanket home with you when the event is over. These policies are there to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone at the event so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.


  • Challenge 25

    If you are lucky enough to look under 25, we may ask you to prove your age when entering the event or when attempting to buy alcohol as part of our Challenge 25 Alcohol Policy.


  • Any one of the following is considered an acceptable form of ID:

  1. Passport (not a photocopy). Foreign passports are acceptable if in suitable condition and include a photograph.

  2. Full or provisional photo card driving license issued by the DVLA.

  3. Proof Of Age Card - The card must be part of the PASS scheme and carry their hologram.


  • If you are under 18 you are committing an offence if you attempt to buy alcohol. Similarly, anyone purchasing alcohol for someone under 18 is committing an offence.


  • Animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not permitted at any time on show days. If you are planning on bringing an assistance dog with you, please email your request to access@roundhayfestival.com together with your recognised Assistance Dog ID card.


  • Smoking cigarettes (or electronic cigarettes) is not permitted in indoor bars and venues. Please dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly – rubbish from smokers is a major cause of litter in Roundhay Park and is damaging to wildlife.


  • Illegal and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated and will lead to ejection from the event. For the safety of all our visitors, crowd surfing and moshing are prohibited.


  • Prohibited Items

    In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all patrons, Roundhay Festival reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to conduct security searches of persons, clothing, bags and all other items on entry and exit and to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the Event with no refunds (please note that we are not responsible for any prohibited items or other items that we deem inappropriate or unsafe that are confiscated).


  • Golf umbrellas, parasols and the like are not permitted at events for safety reasons


  • Chairs, seats, shooting sticks and tables are not permitted at ticketed events for safety reasons. All General Admission tickets are sold as standing tickets.


  • Suitcases, luggage and large bags (anything bigger than A4 sized bags) are prohibited. Note that there are no cloakroom facilities at the event. You can leave your bags at one of Stasher’s hundreds of left luggage locations for only £6 per day (insured up to £1000). Locations within walking distance of the festival.


  • We have updated our bag policy so we can carry out efficient security screening. Only one bag is allowed per person. All persons and bags will be subject to search on entry. It’s better for everyone if you do not bring a bag at all. If you do need to bring a bag, an A4 size bag (297mm x 210mm x 210mm) is permitted.


  • Air horns, selfie sticks, spray cans, Chinese lanterns, dangerous or hazardous weapons/items, fireworks, flags, gas canisters, hand held communication devices such as radios, radio jammers/scanners and the like; glass (of any kind), high-viz, klaxons and other similar items capable of making loud noise, laser pens, drones, pyrotechnics, racist, xenophobic, political and religious propaganda materials, signs or inappropriate branded items, weapons, explosives, knives or anything that could be adopted for use as a weapon, promotional or commercial objects or materials, mechanical or electronic sound-emitting devices, such as megaphones, scooters, skateboards and bicycles are prohibited, and any other items which we consider to be unsafe or pose a risk to public safety and/or security.


  • Psychoactive substances / so-called ‘legal highs’ are strictly forbidden at the event and following the introduction of the Psychoactive Substances Act on 26 May 2016, could result in penalties for possession or supply.


  • Unauthorised professional photography or filming equipment is strictly prohibited. Your bags will be searched upon entry to the event and cameras will be permitted at the security team’s discretion, so if in doubt don’t bring it!

More Event Info

  • No child under the age of 16 will be admitted to the event unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over at all times. Proof of age may be requested upon Entry.

  • AEG reserves the right to determine the ratio of adults in relation to children required for adequate supervision.

  • Children under the age of 2 will be admitted free of charge

  • Not every day at Roundhay Festival is suitable for young children. It is your responsibility to check the suitability of an event for any children in your party, this includes the type of audience the event is likely to attract and whether such an audience is a suitable environment for children in your party.

  • Some shows may have further age restrictions so please check at point of purchase.


Buggies & pushchairs

  • Having carefully considered customer feedback regarding buggies and pushchairs and having discussed the implications with agencies managing the event; it has been agreed that customers may bring buggies into Roundhay Festival, if they feel it is necessary in their individual circumstances. We strongly advise that customers consider that areas nearer to the Mainstage will be very busy and densely populated which may make it extremely challenging to move a buggy. We therefore respectfully advise that buggies may be requested to be relocated from those areas to less densely populated spaces on safety grounds. We thank customers for their feedback and look forward to welcoming them to Roundhay Festival very soon.

Please note that film cameras may be present at the Event. By entering the Event and/or purchasing Tickets, ticket holders consent to filming and sound recording (which may include you as a member of the audience) and its use in distribution (commercial or otherwise) without any payment.

A CCTV system is in operation across the whole event site for everyone’s safety and wellbeing. The scheme is controlled by AEG Presents Ltd.
